New music discovery: Eleven Elements

This track was covered earlier last week, but is too appropriate for the dojo and so is well deserving of another mention here. Eleven Elements has done it once again with another glorious progressive house tune to add to his growing collection, with another ascension of the bests charts to add to his growing list of achievements. There’s plenty more in the near future from this artist as well.

Show Review

Last year Hardwell took the #1 spot onDJ Mag’s annualvote. And with a new year gearing in, the 26-year old took on the road with his “North America Tour 2014.” Soon afterHardwell wonthis achievement, it’s only natural for him to give us an encore by touring beside electro house connoisseurs Dannic and Dyro.

These names havedefinitely gotten quite a reputation out there and it was very apparentwhen the army of fans lined up to get inside the House of Blues, line took up nearly half of Landsownestreet down.

With festival season underway, the electronic dance music scene is only starting to heat up. It wasn’t too long ago that Hardwell alsoperformed at Ultra Music Festival, serving us a taste of what’s to come for the year. Although, some may argue of Hardwell’s repetitive ingredients during his sets lack additional elements, credit must be due where credit is seen.

What made this show different from what i witnessed at Tomorrowworld, is thatthere was a bit more of an interaction during the show in Boston. The crowd’s incredible amount of energy was reflective of the lights and sounds delivered to the audience by Hardwell.

I won’t deny, experiencing thebuild up that is leading to achant, the countdown orDropping the bass arefun ways to get “hyped” at a show, but it gets overwhelming and repetitive when it is done multiple times.

Hardwell did at least manage to step out of that realm for and give us something to sing along with some “Born to Rage” X “Synthemilk” or Lana del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful,” and closed out the show by playing a “Spaceman VIP” and a swervy moombahton remix. While his set did feel somewhat generic, I have to hand it to Hardwell for including a little bit of everything for concertgoersto enjoy.

Overall, Hardwell’s show wasan enjoyable experience that includeda fancy light production. Remainingon top of the music boards is no easy feat, so we hope to see Hardwell progress and give the audience something even bigger for upcoming shows/festivals.

The Spirit Of Ayn Rand Versus Obama

Because of the ACA, our business is suffering through lower insurance costs for the first time ever. In spite of staff aging up, our provider has lowered our premium costs. We were accustomed to double-digit increases for most of the last decade.

And now mom-and-pop businesses that make the sacrifice to provide insurance for their employees will have a more level playing field against those businesses that neglect their moral obligation to their workers. Consider this — if your business model depends on a paying a non-living wage and pushing your workers into the safety net (provided by others), then you are not an entrepreneur; you are an exploiter. To borrow a popular hate phrase: You are not a producer; you are a parasite.

I request that you serve the people of Missouri and reject the politics of GOP obstruction at all costs.

The Spirit Of Ayn Rand Versus Obama

Something like an eargasm…

I came across today’s new music discovery several weeks ago and I have been waiting for the perfect time to feature it on the blog… and that time is now. Velasco is a Dj formation that delivers songs that are filled with impeccable sounds, driving audio, massive hooks and huge choruses. What I love about Velasco is how this Dj is able to draw upon the many influences to the next level.

See you guys next update!

Pioneer Dj Art Mix Project

unnamedWith just a couple days left before the 2014 Miami Music Week kicks off, here’s 3 dates you should make quick note of for your week long festivities. Cosmic Gate have announced their stops for this year’s week-long celebration of dance music on South Beach.

Wednesday, March 26th at Set Club it’s So Get Up Miami! This one will feature the likes of Audien, BT, Jaytech, Jerome Isma-Ae and of course Nic & Bossi themselves. This one will be a special show featuring a ton of new stuff from Wake Your Mind records.

What’s MMW without a yatch party? Sunday, March 30th all aboard the Musette for the Cosmic Gate & Friends Yatch Party. The annual Cosmic Gate cruise has sold out the past 4 years running & 2014 will be no different. Get on board with Orjan Nilsen, DJ Row, Cosmic Gate and of course some special surprises.

Finally to cap it all off, on Sunday, March 30th Cosmic Gate will join the A State of Trance 650 closing celebrations at Ultra. The Germans will be bringing their trademark sound to the ASOT650 celebrations joining in with Armin van Buuren & Friends to cap off a massive week in south Florida.

Cosmic GatePioneer is teaming up with VH1′s Save the Music Foundation along with some of the top names in electronic dance music to design unique CDJ-2000 Nexus decks to be auctioned off for the foundation. Cosmic Gate will be joining the likes of Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, Kaskade, along with Rukes & Insomniac to work with renowned German artist Norm/ab_artig to bring the decks to life with some one of a kind artwork.

These decks will be some of the rarest pieces of memorabilia from Cosmic Gate & the other artists so if you are a die-hard fan, make sure you get your bids in! All the proceeds go to a very worthy cause.

Here’s what Nic & Bossi had to say about their new venture. Nic Chagall: “although it’s early days we’ve already had a whole lot of ideas in mind as to the direction we’d like to take our design. We were immediately impressed when we saw Norm/ab_artig street art – we can’t wait to get working with him on it! Basically, this is where the beats will meet the streets!” Bossi’s further expands, “VH1’s impressive push to restore music education programs to public schools has been on both Nic’s and my radar for quite a time now. Through the Save The Music charity they’re helping nurture talent today that could very well turn into artists whose music we’re all listening to in the future. As musicians we see that as being an enormous positive and we’re very happy indeed to be able to support that through a channel as creative as Pioneer’s Art Mix project.

If you are in LA, stop by The Bank (401 S. Main Street) on October 10th to catch a glimpse of all the artwork. The following day, all items will be posted online as part of the auction.
