It is her Bikini Daze EP, released October 2013, is what caught my attention. Mø is quite similar to Scandinavian artist, Lykke Li, but this high-ponytail wearing dane sets herself apart because of her distinctive voice which is tough and soft at the same time. Mø has enough personality for the 4 track EP which also allows her to stand out in the crowd. Each track on the EP is different to the next and has a different beat and tempo; just when you think you know whats coming next, you are taken by surprise. For example, Never Wanna Know is more mellow and we see Mø displaying her vocal range, then next is Dark Night which is heavily synthesized and has a 70′s pop element to it with brass hooks. For me Freedom #1 is my favourite, its a fusion of folk and electro-pop at the same time, I don’t know how she does it but she does; and it works soo well. Its very calm and her tough kick ass side is pushed to one side and we are left with a soulful piece. Her collaboration with Diplo on her XXX 88 is much more quirky than the title gives away. Her debut album, No Mythologies To Follow, is out February 24th and I am most definitely looking to see what she has in store for us.The album can be pre-ordered online from iTunes and Amazon.
